KISHTWAR, Apr 13: Alleging shortage of teachers in all the schools in the area, Ajay Parihar, Gen Secretary BJP Mandal Dachhan has urged the higher authorities to intervene and provide teachers for the sake of school going children and their future.
“Schools across the tehsil are grappling with a severe shortage of teaching staff, plunging the education system into chaos for the past two to three years. This dire situation demands immediate intervention from the district administration, the Director of School Education Jammu, and MLA Shagun Parihar to restore hope and secure the future of countless poor students yearning for knowledge,” he said in a statement, issued here today.
Drawing attention towards the alarming lack of lecturers for critical subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Environmental Science, and medical-related courses, Mr Parihar explained that without qualified teachers, students are unable to pursue their academic ambitions or prepare for competitive exams that could lift them out of poverty.
Lamenting that bright young students are forced to watch their potential wither due to circumstances beyond their control, he urged the authorities to step in with bold solutions. “The district administration of Kishtwar should prioritize a thorough audit of staffing needs across Tehsil Dachhan’s schools. The Director of School Education Jammu must fast-track recruitment, ensuring lecturers for every subject are appointed without delay. Strict regulations should hold schools accountable for maintaining full staff rosters, with regular inspections to prevent future lapses,” he said.
Further, he added, Tehsil Dachhan needs incentives to attract and retain lecturers in its remote areas—perhaps housing, travel allowances, or career growth opportunities. “Temporary transfers of teachers from other regions could bridge the gap while permanent hires are processed. Community involvement, too, can help—local leaders and parents can work with schools to monitor progress and raise concerns promptly,” he said.
