Govt withdraws order mandating ‘Close Day’ by shops

JAMMU, Oct 29: Government of Jammu and Kashmir has withdrawn its controversial order of mandating observance of `Close Day’ by shops and establishments in the Union Territory.
According to a communiqué issued in this regard by the Labour Commissioner, Charandeep Singh, the circular instruction issued vide Circular No.05-LC of 2024, dated 2-09-2024 regarding this subject are withdrawn ab-initio.
Pertinent to mention that various business bodies had been demanding withdrawn of the order mandating observance of `Close Day’ by business establishments and shops in J&K.
