JAMMU, Dec 18: Association of Industries (AoI), Gangyal, Jammu has alleged that apathetic attitude of the Government towards Micro and Small Industries is causing damage to this sector in the region.
The issues related to the Industry were discussed in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association of Industries, Gangyal, held today under the chairmanship of Rattan Lal Dogra, president of the Association. While speaking on the occasion, the members expressed their anguish over the apathetic attitude of the higher authorities towards the local MSME sector.
They said there was strong resentment among such unit holders as they are facing grim situation due to the attitude of neglect on the part of Government, despite the fact that they are providing large scale employment opportunities to the people of the State.
The entrepreneurs stressed upon that their vital pending issues related to fiscal incentives have remained largely unattended despite one and half years of shifting to GST regime. The previous regime utterly backed out their promises and the public assurances towards the continuity of all fiscal incentives available to local Small and Micro units.
The unit holders were furious towards the continuous deterioration of MSME sector particularly by the policies adopted by its parent industries and Commerce Department, which is evident from the fact that it is bent upon providing additional fiscal incentives to benefit only a handful of units who also avail Central fiscal incentives and State Government also provides additional incentives by way of transport subsidy beyond 1000 kms and 2 % equivalent of CST earlier imposed under the VAT regime. These incentives have been provided to hardly 250 units whereas, more than 8000 units has been left out. This is a deliberate attempt of the higher authorities, they alleged.
The AoI Gangyal urged upon the State Governor to personally intervene into the matter and come to the rescue of local Small and Micro Units for their survival.
Besides Dogra other senior members Bansi Lal Gupta, Ashok Jain, Pardeep Vaid, Sandeep Ohri and Lavinder Puri were also present.
