Srinagar, June 10: The State Government adopted double standards by suspending Revenue officials of Jammu division while letting off those of Kashmir division for committing the same error of wrong entry of MLAs names in the BPL category.
Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Syed Basharat Ahmad Bukhari today informed the House that all the three officers who had wrongly prepared Below Poverty Line (BPL) list in Khour Block have been placed under suspension and inquiry has been initiated by the concerned Deputy Commissioner. He said that the inquiry report will be brought to the notice of the House within a week’s time.
Bukhari also informed the House that no ration card is in the name of Engineer Abdul Rashid as was informed by him yesterday. However, he said that his father is a BPL ration card holder in which Engineer Abdul Rashid is a family member. He informed that subsequently the name of the ration card holder has been excluded from the BPL list.
However, the Minister didn’t mention action taken against the Revenue officials of Langate who have committed the same error as has been committed by Revenue Officials of Khour.
Bukhari also informed the House that the issue of wrong information given by some officer about Doda district is being ascertained and necessary report in this regard will be put before the House soon.
