JAMMU: Exuding confidence over emergence of Vijaypur as a model constituency in the state in terms of growth and development, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga, today said that development was the basis of agenda of the alliance and it is being materialized with excellent results on ground.
The Minister was speaking after kick starting work on rising main from tube well Channi to OHT Vijaypur having 1.25 lakh gallons capacity, which is a part of ongoing Rs. 2.66 crore Water Supply Scheme Vijaypur being established under LIC.
The Minister said that on completion the project would cater to water supply requirements of people of Vijaypur and surrounding areas thus making an end to water scarcity in the area especially during summer days. Under the scheme, the tube wells and OHT would be interconnected so that the water supply do not suffer in case of non functioning of any of the tube well, he added.
The Minister also took stock of status of other works being done under the WSS Vijaypur and asked the officers to make sure that these are completed within the fixed time.
Referring to rapid expansion in the Vijaypur constituency, the Minister said that the government is executing all necessary works related to development and welfare of the area on war footing so as to meet the requirements of the people. The focus is being accorded on extending basic facilities like roads, water and power supply, education and healthcare services.
Highlighting agenda of present dispensation envisaging a total transformation in every parameter of development, the Minister said that since the change in the helm of affairs in the state there has emerged new hopes and aspirations among the people. “We have a clear vision and single mindedness towards our goal and it is firm determination of the government to turn its words into actions”, he maintained.
The Minister said that during the tenure of the present government tremendous achievements under different sectors have been registered which are being well acknowledged and appreciated by the people themselves. He said that we need not to speak big about our motive and achievements as the works done in every sector so far speaks about the volumes of achievement recorded by the present dispensation.
Among others AEEs, BDO and other senior officers of different departments were present on the occasion.
