This refers to the news item ‘No documentary proof of GPF advance, withdrawal ‘ DE April 13, 2017.
The Central Government deserves appreciation for simplifying the General Provident Fund (GPF) withdrawal proceedure. Indeed, withdrawing was a cumbersome process as it involved lot of documentary procedure. Not only that it also consumed lot of time even when one needed it during crucial times. At times of employees had to bribe the concerned official for quick disbursement. There have been instances when one could not get the needed money on time. That is why employees hesitate to deposit big amounts in their GPF accounts, rather they would prefer banks for the same.
Now when the Central Government has done away with this procedure, the J&K Government must follow the same. In this State, GPF is a complicated process. One really shudders on the thought of withdrawing the fund. In case it is made easy, every one feels delighted.
