UDHAMPUR, Sept 22: The students of Government Primary School, SC Mohalla, Chakhar village on Jail Road in Udhampur Zone, along with their parents are up in arms against the District Education authorities and continued to boycott classes for the last about 22 days.
These hapless children mostly from the Scheduled Caste community are demanding Transfer Certificate (TC) from the concerned teacher and the Zonal Educational authorities but the concerned authorities are delaying the same on various pretexts.
The parents of the children alleged that there are hardly 9 students left in the school and there is only one female teacher provided. Due to frequents leaves of the teacher and alleged meetings in ZEO office, the study of their children is badly hit. They alleged that they demanded transfer certificate many times but the teacher is not providing the same. They said for the last 22 days children are not going to school but the ZEO or concerned CEO are unconcerned of the matter. They sought intervention of DC Udhampur and DSE Jammu into the matter. They also demanded that this school be closed.
