Grameen Bank launches ‘Gram Swaraj Abhiyan’

RAJOURI, Apr 20: J&K Grameen Bank launched  “Gram Swaraj Abhiyan”  in the  unbanked villages Sariah and Khambah near the  LoC under the branch office Bhawani   in district-Rajouri today.
Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion Department under the chairmanship of  RK Chhibber conducted Govt of India campaign “Gram Swaraj  Abhiyaan” in the remote unbanked villages Sariah – Khambah of Nowshera sector.
Des Raj, DDM   NABARD , was the chief guest on the occasion. He described the campaign as an initiative for reaching out to the poor households in villages of  various districts like  Jammu, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar etc.
The programme was focus on maximum enrolment of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY). He appreciated the efforts of the bank towards social security schemes and applauded that the bank is making extraordinary efforts to make the national programme of social security schemes a big success. He informed the gathering about these schemes and requested them to enrol under these social security schemes.
Regional Manager,  RK Narang, Rajouri & Poonch, J&K Grameen Bank was also present on the  occasion. He highlighted that the programme mainly focuses on to enrol more and more individuals under these Social Security Schemes viz Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY).
At least 200 people attended the camp and 100 of enrolments was done on the occasion. The initiative was plans to spread awareness regarding the various schemes of the bank with special rate of interests including Car Loan@8.95%, Housing Loan@8.35% and Transport Loan@9%.   The masses were told  about technological innovations in banking industry including NEFT/RTGS, Online Banking, IMPS, SMS Banking, Rupay Card, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System & Direct Benefit Transfer etc. to promote the digital banking and move towards the less-cash economy.
