JAMMU, Jan 28: Financial Inclusion & Insurance Department of J&K Grameen Bank under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural in collaboration with NABARD conducted Financial Literacy programmes at unbanked villages Balote, Chadwal and Bhambarama in district Kathua and also at Gurah Manhasa and Doomi Malpur in district Jammu.
Amit Laira, Regional Manager, Kathua and Samba who was the chief guest on the occasion highlighted various schemes like KCC card, Rupay Kisan Card, Crop Insurance etc.
He also spoke on trending topic of creating a cashless economy and the accompanying benefits. He educated people about use of POS machine, Rupay debit card, KCC Rupay debit card, Net banking, Mobile banking services, IMPS, Aadhaar based transactions etc.
He also gave a brief review of various loan schemes of the bank.
Lalit Hans, BH Chadwal told the gathering about the latest developments in PMJDY like the overdraft amount raised to Rs 10,000 and the age limit to open a PMJDY account is also increased to 65 years and there will be no condition for overdraft up to Rs 2000 plus the accidental insurance cover for new Rupay card holders has been raised to Rs. 2 lakh for the new PMJDY accounts.
Ravi Kumar, BH Dayalachak, Ketan Balgotra, BH Rajbagh, Satish Kumar Raina, BH Pargwal and Dheeraj Singh Saini, BH Batera at their respective programmes spread awareness about various lending schemes offered by the bank like Housing loan, Transport loan, Car loan, Education loan etc.
Rupay debit cards were also distributed to the customers during the events.
