Gramin Dak Sevaks’ strike enters 16th day

JAMMU, June 6: The indefinite strike of Gramin Dak Sevaks of Postal Department under the banner of Joint Council of Action (JCA) and All India Gramin Dak Sevaks’ Union (AIGDSU) entered 16th day, today.
The indefinite strike was started on May 22 by GDS section of the Postal Department and the protesting Dak Sevaks said that the strike will remain continue until and unless the genuine demands of this aggrieved class of low paid Gramin Dak Sevaks of Postal Department are accepted by the Department of Posts and Government of India.
Like other previous days, today also the protest was held in the shape of peaceful dharna in front of Jammu Tawi Head Post Office at Dogra Chowk for acceptance and immediate implementation of GDS 7th Pay Commission Report of Kamlesh Chandera Committee. A large number of Gramin Dak Sevak employees marked their presence in the dharna.
