Grand cultural festival ‘Jashn-e-Jagti’ organized

JAMMU, Mar 26: A grand cultural festival was organized today in Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Jagti with a huge number of spectators.
A grand show of folk festival (Hanze), Rouf dance, Bach-e-Nagmeh, Kashmiri Chakri, Dogri dance and Punjabi dance was presented during the programme which enthralled the audience including the dignitaries. This Festival was organized to promote the Kashmiri Pandit artists to showcase their talent.
Former Deputy Chief Minister of J&K Kavinder Gupta was the chief guest of the function. On the occasion, Kavinder presented awards to top five talented students of Kashmiri Pandits, besides awarding participating artists of the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta reiterated the importance of art and culture of Kashmir. He said this is the best cultural festival in Jagti (which is promoted by the Kashmiri Pandit artists). He said that the Government is working for the betterment of all artists. The senior BJP leader assured all support for the cultural programs in future, so that new talent may get the chance to perform.
Earlier, while presenting welcome address, Festival Director, Gulzar Ahmed Bhat said he is happy that the current government is keen to support the artists of J&K. He demanded the Government to form a cultural policy so that the artists of the UT are benefitted.
Yudhvir Sethi (vice president of BJP J&K), Secretary of J&K Art Culture and Languages, teachers and local artists were also present on the occasion.
