JAMMU, June 12: Rs 100 crore grand temple of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidass Ji is being constructed in village Bartuma of Sagar district in Madhya Pradesh. The funds for this have been sanctioned by MP Government during the tenure of former Chief Minister, Shiv Raj Singh Chauhan and its foundation stone was laid by PM Narendra Modi last year.
This was stated by Balbir Ram Rattan, national secretary, Guru Ravidass Vishwa Mahapeeth, while presenting a replica of the temple and portrait of Guru Ji to Jammu and Kashmir BJP general secretary (Organization), Ashok Koul.
He said it is indeed a matter of honour and pride for the entire Ravidassia community of the country.
Ashok Koul, on this occasion, said that the BJP as well as the BJP Government at the Centre under PM Narendra Modi, has always displayed its commitment for equal treatment to all the sections of the society and taken decisions to highlight the lives and the teachings of their saints by constructing temples, memorials, museums etc in their honour. He said that the Madhya Pradesh Government has provided land and Rupees 100 crore for construction of the grand temple, which itself speak of the concern to promote the teachings of Gurus and preserve for the future generations.
Koul further said that the temple would serve as a centre of attraction for the tourists and the pilgrims from across the country and abroad. The arrival of people in large numbers promotes local business and opens avenues of employment for the unemployed youth, which will be a big boon for the area.
Balbir Ram Rattan, while elaborating on the details of this prestigious project, shared that the construction of grand temple is in progress and on completion, it will have a museum showcasing the personality of Guru Ravidass, besides four galleries in the museum, which will have details of Bhakti Marg, contribution to Nirgun Panth, philosophy of Sant Ji, his literature and social harmony.
Apart from this, Sangat Hall, Jal Kund, Bhakta Niwas equipped with spiritual and modern facilities will be available, he said.
