JAMMU, Nov 11: Notorious worldwide for being safe-haven to terrorists, Pakistan is perpetuating atrocities of all sorts to the residents of Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and those who raise voice against oppressions are termed as “Indian Agents”.
This was informed today by Ajatshatru Singh, senior BJP leader and former minister who is also grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh—the last Hindu monarch of erstwhile J&K State.
“As we in India had TADA (Terrorist and Destructive Activities-Prevention) Act in our legal system, similar stringent sections of sedition are imposed on PoJK residents if they raise voice against the atrocities which they face since 1947 and their families are also victimized.”
Singh said that such people even disappear and never return back to their homes and are eliminated in PoJK only for speaking against cruelty of Pakistani authorities.
“I along with my wife Ritu Singh have just returned from London where we were invited at UK Parliament to address on the Accession Day of J&K and a delegation of PoJK people met us there and narrated their woes,” he said.
Singh quoted the delegation to say that if PoJK people have to visit some other district in Pakistan they have to secure permission from the Police Stations near their home.
“There are no human rights for these people of our erstwhile J&K State who unfortunately got separated from us during the partition of India in 1947,” he further said.
Ajatshatru informed that there are three dams in PoJK which form a big source of income for Pakistan as electricity produced by these dams fetches 5 billion dollars to the country but still people in the occupied region have to bear power cuts of 18 hours.
“Also there is no school, college, health system, no jobs and women in PoJK have to stand for 7-8 hours in queue to get ration,” he said.
Singh also informed that the people of PoJK will organize a conference at UN Headquarters in Geneva in March 2024 where they will highlight their miseries before the people of 70-80 countries which will be invited there.
When asked will PoJK again become part of India, Singh replied: “Modi Hai To Mumkin Hai” (till there is PM Modi as the helmsman in India it is possible).
“I am hopeful that PoJK, which is a part of our State will return to us,” he continued adding that the visiting delegation told him that people of PoJK lost their freedom in 1947 after Pakistan illegally occupied the region.
Ritu Singh said that UK Parliamentarian Bob Blackman was supporting freedom of PoJK from Pakistan since long but apart from him there were Jonathon and Teresa along with Indian representative in UK Parliament also with similar support.Modi can make it possible to have PoJK again part of India: Ajatshatru”.
‘Grave HR violations in PoJK, elimination of those who raise voice continues’.
