Chennai, June 9: Greenlam Industries, engaged in surface decor business, on Friday said it has commenced commercial production at its greenfield facility in Tamil Nadu, set up at an investment of Rs 125 crore, through its subsidiary company HG Industries Ltd.
The facility in Tindivanam, about 150 km from here, to manufacture plywood and allied products would have an installed capacity of 18.9 million square metre per annum. “…Regarding setting up a greenfield project for manufacturing plywood and Allied products at Tindivanam, Tamil Nadu by a subsidiary of the company HG Industries Ltd., with an estimated investment of Rs 125 crore. We are now pleased to inform you that the said manufacturing facility having an installed capacity of 18.9 million square metre per annum has commenced commercial production with effect from June 9”, the company said in a BSE filing. The facility has the potential to generate revenue of Rs 400 crore per annum on full capacity utilisation, it said. “The total capex (capital expenditure) incurred for the project stands at Rs 130 crore approximately till the commencement of the commercial production,” the company said. The products manufactured would be marketed by the company under the brand – MikasaPly, it said. Greenlam Industries on its website said it holds an 18 per cent share in the organised domestic market and is the largest laminate player in the country. The company has state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat. The company produces laminate with a manufacturing capacity of 19.02 million sheets per annum. It has the largest capacity of decorative veneer of 4.2 million square metres, and the company manufactures engineered wood floors. The company is the first entity to produce engineered door solutions. The factory-finished doors and frames are manufactured at the facility in Behror, Rajasthan which has an annual capacity of 1.20 lakh doors and frames. (PTI)
