NEW DELHI:
A group of persons hailing from remote villages of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir today met Home Minister Rajnath Singh and shared their experience on rich and diverse culture of the country while visiting different places.
The tour, organised by the Indian Army under its project ‘Operation Sadbhavana’, has been planned with an aim to familiarise and introduce the opinion-makers to the rich and diverse culture of the country, foster a sense of goodwill and unity and create awareness of India’s multifaceted identity, an official statement said.
During the trip, which began on January 20, the group has visited various cultural and historical places of interest across Delhi, Udaipur and Ajmer.
The tour members also visited educational institutes like Noida International University and Pacific University, Udaipur which provides quality education to wards of citizens of Jammu and Kashmir at nominal fees.
The team members witnessed the full-dress rehearsal of the Republic Day Parade on January 23 and are planning to meet other dignitaries during their stay in the national capital, the statement said. (PTI)
