As the valley has witnessed complete shutdown for over last one month and people are out of their houses and protesting against the security forces and Government with the result Rajya Sabha held a debate on the issue which has worried not only the people of Jammu and Leh but of the whole country questioning why the youths are playing into the hands of separatists, communal forces and non-State actors.
MLA RS Pura Dr Gagan Bhagat took an initiative and with the help of MLA from Wachi Assembly Constituency of the Kashmir valley Aijaz Wani contacted a group of college going youths and invited them to visit R S Pura and have an interactive session and spent time with them, which could change the mindset of some youth. While talking to the media persons Dr Bhagat said “Kashmir is ours and why should we the people from RS Pura and Jammu be silent and watch this situation which has occurred not within a span of one year, but due to the wrong policies of the political groups who have ruled the State and the country for more than six decades”.

Common man in Kashmir wants to live with peace and dignity, the people from the other parts of the country wanted to visit Kashmir ,the tourist data of the State certify that Jammu & Kashmir has recorded best ever inflow of tourist and tourism in this State during PDP-BJP rule, he added.
He said the roadmap was prepared for the fastest ever development and other activities with the help of the Union Government and Rs 80,000 Crore package that was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started working on the ground and the results that were coming from the Valley were very encouraging especially from the aspect of females and youths. To defuse the present situation a collective effort is required rising above the party politics everyone who wants the welfare of the State and its citizens should boldly come out and contribute for defusing the crisis and restoration of normalcy in the Valley, he added.
Dr Bhagat said that in this regard he has himself taken initiative and invited these students from the Valley so that at least something positive happen in this context.
