Growing organic foods

Sir,
This has reference to the Sunday Magazine article ‘ Talwara goes organic’ by Dr Banarsi Lal published on Nov 27.
The Talwera people deserve appreciation for cultivating organic foods in their fields. The deviation from normal agricultural mode which involves large scale use of pesticides and chemicals is a bold move, and it underlines the fact that farmers are not conservative or orthodox in their approach. They are innovative farsighted and can keep pace with modern times and changes.
The organic food cultivation will help them earn a good buck in the coming times which in turn will lead to their prosperity. As already mentioned in the write up, it will also inspire other farmers in the State.
The change in agricultural practices has come at a time when people in villages do not have any inclination for earning through agricultural activities. They like their urban counterparts would prefer white collar job which would ensure them a steady income, besides enhancing their social status.
The Talwara people deserve all  help from the Government and agricultural scientists.
Yours etc..
