Guar seed futures up on spot demand

NEW DELHI, May 10: Guar seed prices went up by Rs 26.50 to Rs 3,800.50 per quintal in futures trade today on the back of raising of positions by participants coupled with a firm trend at physical markets.
Analysts said a firm trend at the spot markets on the back of increased demand from guar gum makers against thin supplies from producing belts, led to rise in guar seed  prices at futures trade here.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar seed for delivery this month advanced by Rs 26.50 or 0.70 per cent to Rs 3,800.50 per quintal, having an open interest of 19,180 lots.
Likewise, contracts for the most-active delivery in June flared up by Rs 23 or 0.60 per cent to Rs 3,858 per quintal, open interest stood of 84,810 lots. (PTI)
