NEW DELHI, Sept 11: Guarseed prices spurted further by Rs 290 to Rs 7,780 per quintal in futures trade today following strong demand amid thin supply from growing regions.
Marketmen said apart from low stocks position on reduced arrivals from growing regions, brisk buying by guargum making industries mainly held prices higher.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guarseed prices for October month spurted by Rs 290, or 3.87 per cent to Rs 7,780 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 8,974 lots.
Near November contract advanced Rs 280, or 3.89 per cent to Rs 7,480 per quintal with an open interest of 9,038 lots.
Far December contract also rose by Rs 280, or 3.92 per cent to Rs 7,430 per quintal, having an open interest of 2,544 lots. (PTI)
