Gujjar community’s support crucial for BJP: Yudhvir Sethi

JAMMU: BJP J&K Vice President Yudhvir Sethi today asserted that Gujjar community’s support is of great significance as far as his party is concerned and assured to fulfill the aspirations of the community at the earliest.
The senior BJP leader was addressing a programme organized to felicitate famous religious personality from Kupwara Peer Maqbool Sahib, here.
Sethi said that BJP is committed to welfare of tribal communities of J&K especially Gujjars and Bakerwals. After taking the blessings from Maqbool Sahib, the BJP leader said that BJP staunchly believes in Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas Aur Sabka Vishwas, therefore under its realms no community or sect can fear any kind of prejudice or discrimination.
Earlier, Maqbool Sahib lauded the policies of BJP in giving due share to ST community in J&K. He said that giving 38 DDC seats to ST community people is a historical move of the BJP and also the implementation of Forests Rights Act in letter and spirit is a step forward in augmenting facilities to ST community in the region. He also thanked BJP for paving way to provide reservation to ST community in J&K Assembly.
Haroon Choudhary, President ST Morcha BJP J&K said that BJP is the party of the people and its policies are framed in a manner that no community remains aloof from the benefits. He asserted that BJP would continue to serve the country especially the poor and the marginalized with great vigour.
Yudhvir Sethi said that Gujjars and Bakerwals’s support is crucial for party as these communities are nationalistic in nature and are considered as ears and eyes of India as most them dwell and move near country’s borders. He said that texture of BJP is incomplete without Gujjars and Bakerwals coming into its fold.
He said that BJP’s commitment to country to ensure development also include the development of the communities like Gujjars and Bakerwals, which faced indifference of successive governments in J&K since 1947 inspite of sacrifices and dedication of these communities towards nation.
