SRINAGAR, Oct 15: Following a secret enquiry by the State Vigilance Commission, through Vigilance Organization, a Gulmarg Gandola fake ticket racket has been busted.
The enquiry established that Data Base System of Gulmarg Gondola Project, provided by the contractor firm namely Afford Infocom Pvt. Ltd, had compromised to obtain fake tickets on internet, by bypassing the payment Gateway of Gulmarg Gondola. The Data Base Administrator of the firm, namely Arif Rasool Bhat, resident of Khawaja Bagh Baramulla, in connivance with his associates, had manipulated the data to facilitate illegal benefit to himself and some travel agencies.
The secret codes of the whole system were misused and manipulated in connivance with some Travel Agents and so far detection of fake tickets worth 4, 89,000/- has come to light. The fake tickets were manipulated to pass the verification check point at the Base Camp to avoid any suspicion.
On the basis of this revelation, case FIR No. 124/2015 has been registered in Police Station Sadder Srinagar for further investigation.
