Gulmarg, other upper reaches receive fresh snowfall

SRINAGAR: World famous ski resort of Gulmarg and other upper reaches in Kashmir valley received fresh snowfall while rain lashed the plains, including summer capital, Srinagar, resulting in further chilly conditions.
A Met department spokesman said that light to moderate rain would occur at many places in Kashmir and Jammu regions while Ladakh would have cloudy sky during the next 24 hours.
Affarwat and other heights of the resort received fresh snowfall, a hotel owner told mediapersons over phone from Gulmarg, a major attraction of tourists, skiers and adventure lovers.
Sonmarg, Gangangeer, Meenmarg, Zojila and Sonamarg on the highway, which connects the Ladakh region with the rest of the State, also received fresh snowfall though it was through for traffic. Meanwhile, it is raining in the world famous health resort of Pahalgam, 100 km from Srinagar in south Kashmir. The holy Amarnath cave shrine and its periphery besides Sheshnag, Mahaguns, Pisso top and Panjterni also received fresh snowfall. (AGENCIES)
