SRINAGAR: An encounter broke out today between militants and security forces in Kupwara district, officials said.
The militants opened fire on an army patrol party at Arampora area in Kupwara, an Army official said.
He said the soldiers reacted swiftly and launched an operation to track down the militants.
“At around 3.30 pm, a gun battle broke out between the militants and the security forces,” he said adding further details are awaited. (AGENCIES)
