JAMMU, Dec 4: Union Minister for Textiles, Women & Child Development Samriti Irani today accused the Gupkar Alliance leaders of diverting the entire money lying in the coffers of J&K towards their dynasties and leaving the people of erstwhile State high and dry.
Addressing election rallies at Nagrota, Miran Sahib and village Majua in Bishnah today she took a dig at Gupkar Alliance leaders saying that the sole aim of Gupkar parties to join hands was to turn people’s attention from the Roshni scam as they have grabbed thousands kanals of land on the name of Roshni Act. Irani asked what happened to Rs 25,000 crore which they had promised will be generated under the Act and utilized for the welfare of the people.

“This money was not utilized for the welfare of common masses but entire land was grabbed by few political dynasties of J&K who ruled the erstwhile State for seven decades leaving people high and dry’’, she added.
Making a scathing attack on National Conference (NC) and Congress leaders Samriti Irani said the leaders of both parties are involved in Roshni scam and even NC constructed its office on the land grabbed by the party taking undue advantage of Roshni Act.
She said this act came to lime light after High Court of J&K ordered that the names be made public who took the advantage of the Act and the leaders of political parties were unmasked. Apprehending action by Government these parties joined hands and ganged up against the country, she added.
Irani said today they have joined the poll fray to misled the masses again. She said to give a blow to these land grabbers was only possible when there was a strong Government led by Narendra Modi at Centre. She asked the masses that they should question these leaders that why DDC elections were not held in last 70 years and why the Panchayati Raj system was not strengthened in the erstwhile State during their rule.
The Union Minister, while highlighting the benefits of holding the DDC elections informed the people that the funds sanctioned by 14th Finance Commission will now reach the people of J&K for the development.
She, while recalling the role of BJP said the party struggled for last over 70 years for the poor and downtrodden people in the country. She said these were BJP activists who during the Corona virus distributed ration and relief to the poor and needy people across the country while the Gupkar leaders did not bother for this and showed no concern for the poor masses of J&K.
“Our workers worked tirelessly during the COVID period all over the country distributing ration, masks and sanitizers among the needy people while no other party came in front to help and support the masses, she, said, asking why Gupkaris did not join hands at that time when poor people needed it most’’?.
