JAMMU, Apr 27: Mr. Pradeep Gupta today took over charge as Divisional Commissioner Jammu . Outgoing Divisional Commissioner, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, who has been transferred and posted as Commissioner Secretary Transport Department handed over charge to Mr. Gupta.
Welcoming Mr Gupta for his new assignment , Dr. Kotwal apprised him about the functioning of the Divisional Commissioner office.
Immediately after taking charge, Mr. Gupta took an introductory meeting with the officers and officials of his office and asked them to put their sincere efforts in providing quality services to masses in solving their problems in an early possible manner. He urged upon the officers/officials to keep their activities at maximum and work with utmost zeal to bring transparency and accountability in their functioning.
Mr. Gupta did his schooling from Sainik School Bhubneshwar. He has done master degree in science from Delhi University. He joined State Service in 1977 through Jammu and Kashmir Combine Competitive Examination and was allotted Revenue (Gazetted) Service. He has worked in various capacities in the administration, including Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Director Industries, Director Rural Development Department, Excise Commissioner and as Commissioner Secretary, CAPD and Transport.
A farewell was also accorded to the outgoing Divisional Commissioner by the staff members on the occasion.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, M.H. Malik, Joint Director Information, Jammu, Soujanya Sharma, ACC, S.A. Khan, Assistant Commissioner, P.R. Katoch, Joint Director, J.L. Bhagat and staff members were also present on the occasion.
