Jammu, May 17: Following the directives from RSS Sar Sanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat for the care of every underprivileged member of the society belonging to any religion or cast during the ongoing lock down due to COVID-19, Former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta continued the distribution of ration kits under “Nar Seva Narayan Seva” campaign at Nanak Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Qasim Nagar, Rajiv Nagar, Narwal and Trikuta Nagar areas falling in Gandhi Nagar Constituency.
Gupta was accompanied by District President Vinay Gupta, Councilor-Surjeet Papu Choudhary, District General secretary-Ankush Gupta and District secretary Narinder Gupta.
On the occasion, Gupta said, “We have inherited the lesson of helping and serving, we will not let it get weaker”. Gupta stressed for special support for vulnerable groups and individuals for example the elderly, those with underlying health conditions, disabled people, and people with mental health problems, homeless people, and undocumented migrants.
Gupta also batted for financial compensation to lost employment due to continued lockdown and workers facing particular challenges. Financial compensation for losses incurred may be seen as an essential component of the wider preventive strategy because it may facilitate adherence to the prescribed public health measures.
Gupta added since every citizen is aware about the way COVID-19 is spreading, everyone should limit close contact with individuals outside your household in indoor and outdoor spaces. Since people can spread the virus before they know they are sick, it is important to stay away from others when possible, even if you have no symptoms. Social distancing is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick.
In addition to everyday steps to prevent COVID-19, keeping space between you and others is one of the best tools we have to avoid being exposed to this virus and slowing its spread locally and across the country and world, he stated.
