Gupta demands ST status for Pahari Speaking people

JAMMU, Aug 24: Former Vice Chairman of Advisory Board for the Development of Pahari Speaking People, Kuldeep Raj Gupta has urged upon PM Modi led government to grant Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the Pahari Speaking people of J&K.
He claimed that these people are nationalistic and hardworking but are devoid of various advancements and also voiced for strengthening the community members of these people, especially those from the areas of Rajouri by engaging them as SPOs.
Addressing a press conference here today Gupta said that Pahari population remained a victim of Pakistan’s mischievous activities directly from across the border as well as its sponsored terrorism.
He said that it is highly recommendable that the local Pahari speaking youth of Rajouri be engaged as SPOs so that the nuisance like infiltration and subsequent terrorism can be effectively contained.
Gupta further said that proactive approach by PM Modi led Government has initiated unprecedented developments in far flung areas.
BJP Spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan and BJP Media Secretary, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra were also present in the press conference.
