JAMMU, Nov 12: P.L Gupta, IPS (Retd), met Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Gupta and Lt. Governor discussed several concerning issues for maintaining transparency in the functioning of the public institutions.
Meanwhile, Abdul Latief U Zaman Deva also met Lieutenant Governor and briefed him about the functioning of the J&K PSC and the continuing improvements being made by the Commission in the timely conduct of various examinations.
Lt. Governor emphasised the high importance of the Commission maintaining unimpeachable standards and ensuring selection of candidates with greater transparency and efficiency.
Dr. K.S. Risam, Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) also met Lieutenant Governor and briefed him about various issues relating to the academic and administrative importance and the initiatives undertaken by the University to develop it as a centre of quality teaching and research activities.
Risam informed that a total of seven Research Stations and seven Krishi Vigyan Kendras are under the jurisdiction of SKUAST Jammu catering to sub-tropical, intermediate and temperate agro-climatic zones of the Jammu region.
Lt. Governor emphasized that the educational interest of the entire student community should be promoted and safeguarded by adoption of various innovative and reformative measures.
