JAMMU, Feb 23: Senior Congress leader, Rajesh Gupta, has strongly criticized the working of Medical Superintendent, SMGC Hospital, Jammu, in view of recent theft of a newly born infant from the hospital premises.
It is unfortunate on the part of hospital authorities and police department that even after a lapse of over 20 days, they have failed to trace out the newly born infant, Gupta said during a meeting of Congress workers.
He expressed grave concern over the insecurity of infants in the Government Hospitals and demanded the hospital authorities to take immediate steps to check such incidents in future.
This is not first time when an infant has been stolen from the hospital, Gupta alleged. He suspected that there might be a big gang working in the State, which if not traced well in time, may lead to such unfortunate incidents in future also.
Among others present in the meeting were Krishan Gupta, Aman Mahajan, Arjum Pathania, Varun Mahajan, Raghubir Singh, Vikram Choudhary, Rahul Sharma and Sumit Kotwal.
