Jammu, Apr 22: Former Union Minister and MLA Jammu West Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta today inaugurated newly constructed community hall at Ward No. 28. The hall has been constructed by Jammu Municipal Corporation on recommendations of Prof. Gupta at a cost of Rs. 38 lakh.
Senior Citizens, Management Committee of community hall, Senior JKDF activists and other prominent persons of the area were present on the occasion. Anil Gupta (State President JKDF), Kapil Sharma (Joint Commissioner Municipality) and Sunil Sharma (Executive Engineer, works JMC) were also present on the occasion. Prof. Gupta handed over the management of community hall to local Committee members of Ward No. 28. This committee shall look after the maintenance and other day to day work of the community hall.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion Prof. Gupta said, ” One of the long pending demand of people has been fulfilled. This community hall will cater the needs of people particularly poor ones who could not afford costly accommodation for performing their social and religious rituals. It will be our endeavor to provide such facilities in other wards of Jammu West where it is required. The foremost preference is the development and betterment of Ward residents. Every possible effort is being made to mitigate the problems of the people of the area. Various developmental activities and construction work on public demand have been taken over in different wards of Jammu West Constituency and same shall be completed at the earliest possible time, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Anil Gupta (President JKDF) expressed his gratitude to Prof. Gupta for his initiatives of carrying out developmental activities in Ward No. 28, He said many works like black toping of roads, construction of lanes, drains and electrical maintenance has been carried out in various wards on initiative of MLA.
