UDHAMPUR, Nov 9: Minister of State for Finance & Information Technology, Pawan Kumar Gupta today kick started macadamization work of double lane railway station road, black-topping of Jakhani to Salmey road, Ambedkar Chowk-Railway Station road and Adarsh colony road to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 273 lakh by Public Works Department in three phases.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that under the first phase macadamization work of 1.6 Km Jakhani Ambedkar Chowk – Railway Station Road has been started, which was a long pending demand of local people.  Mr. Gupta added that road connectivity is imperative for development of all other sectors including tourism. He added that the Government is committed to provide improved basic facilities like road connectivity, electricity, schools, healthcare etc to the people at their doorsteps.
Mr. Gupta issued on spot instructions to XEn PWD to ensure durability of road without compromising on quality of material. He said that developmental works of the district will be completed in the stipulated time so that all basic public requirements are met at the earliest.
Responding to demands of the locals, the Minister assured that all genuine issues will be considered on priority and addressed in a phased manner.
