Gupta posted as Pr. Secy to Vohra

JAMMU, Apr 1: Rakesh Kumar Gupta, 1986 batch IAS officer of J&K cadre has been appointed as new Principal Secretary to Governor, N N Vohra.
Mr Gupta, who is presently working as Additional Secretary with Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), will be joining his new posting day after tomorrow. He would be replacing Mr Navin Kumar Choudhary, who has been posted as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence.
Mr Gupta, who was already on extended tenure with the UPSC, has served the State on various important posts including Special Secretary Power, Special Secretary Planning Department, Commissioner/Secretary Information Technology and also as Chief Electoral Officer. While being on Central deputation, he has worked as Deputy Secretary and Director with Ministry of Home Affairs and CVO in Department of Consumer Affairs.
Official sources said Mr Choudhary would also be joining his new assignment immediately after being relieved by General Administration Department (GAD).
Mr Choudhary had earlier functioned on several posts in the State including DC Baramulla, Vice-Chairman Jammu Development Authority (JDA) and Special Secretary Tourism Department. While on deputation to New Delhi, he had handled important assignments like Deputy Secretary and then Director Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance and had also served as Advisor to Executive Director, International Monetary Fund (IMF), Washington.
