Gur prices remain steady in thin trade

NEW DELHI, July 22:  In thin trading due to offseason, the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market settled steady in the national capital today due to absence of any worthwhile activity.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets too settled unchanged in thin trade.
Market players said muted demand due to offseason coupled with thin supplies in view of bad weather conditions mainly kept gur prices unaltered.
Following are today’s rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 3,500-3,600, pedi Rs 3,800-3,900, dhayya Rs 3,900-4,000 and shakkar Rs 4,100-4,200.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,625-2,675, chakku Rs 3,200- 3,300, khurpa Rs N.Q. And Ladoo Rs 3,250-3,300.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,400-3,450 and dhayya Rs 3,450- 3,500. (PTI)
