SAMBA, Oct 12: The social activists, Panchs and Sarpanches of Gurah Slathia today protested against the Health Department and the Government in the Hospital premises of Gurah Slathia against the absence of doctors.
The protest was organized against the Government under the supervision of social worker, Sudarshan Singh Slathia. Slathia said that Gurah Slathia being a Kandi area where the Primary Health Center was built by the Government about 40 years ago to provide medicare facilities to the people. But now for the last five months, where there is a huge shortage of doctors, many doctors have been transferred and many do not come on time, due to which the patients face problems and they are forced to approach private clinic to Vijaypur.
He demanded that the doctors who are posted in Gurah Slathia hospital should be immediately asked to resume their duties. He said on this hospital about dozens of villages are connected like Kamala, Utterbehni, Nagrota, Badwal etc and. patients coming there for treatment face an awkward situation due to absence of doctors in the hospital. He warned that if the problem is not solved, then there will be an agitation and people will be forced to block National Highway.
Among those who joined the protest included Sarpanch, Sonia Slathia, Panch Buga Slathia, Varinda Slathia etc.
