Gurdeep heads Airport Taxi Drivers Association

JAMMU, Oct 11: Gurdeep Singh has been elected as president while Ajit Raj as general secretary of the Jammu Airport Taxi Drivers Association.
The general election of Jammu Airport Taxi Drivers Association was held here today under the supervision of Election Chairman, Bansi Lal Sodhi and Returning Officer, Nirmal Singh.
While S Gurdeep Singh was elected unopposed to the post of president, S Parvinder Singh was elected as vice president. He secured 117 votes out of the total polled 147, out of 153. Ajit Raj was elected as general secretary and he bagged 118 votes.
Surinder Kumar Raina was elected as cashier and he bagged 123 votes. He defeated Satnam Singh Sodhi, who got just 22 votes. Parvinder defeated Joginder Singh, who secured just 28 votes. Baldev Singh, who got just 25 votes was defeated by Ajit Raj.
Newly elected president, Gurdeep Singh extended gratitude to the members of the Association for reposing faith in him and assured them to project their issues before the concerned authorities forcefully as and when required. Gurdeep has been elected as president for the eighth consecutive term.
