Gurdwara Singh Sabha observes martyrs day

Minister for Medical Education, R S Chib being honouring by presenting shawal and sword at Nanak Nagar Gurudwara on Saturday.

Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Nov 23: To mark the martyrdom day of Ninth Guru, Guru Teg Bahadur Jee Sahib, Gurdwara Singh Sabha Nanak Nagar, Jammu organized a programme at Gurdwara Singh Sabha at Nanak Nagar. Paying rich tribute to Guru ji, Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports R S Chib threw light on the life and work of Guru Ji. He termed Guru ji’s sacrifice as supreme in the world. He said Guru ji sacrificed his life for the cause of others which inspires mankind to live a selfless life. The Minister called upon the people to remember those people who have sacrificed their lives for cause of humanity and safeguarding the country, adding that following the teachings and footsteps of them would be real tributes to them. Mr. Chib was also honoured by presenting a sword and shawl on the occasion. Responding to demand presented by the Gurdwara Singh Sabha regarding declaration of Shaheedi Divas a Gazetted holiday in the State on the pattern of Delhi State, the Minister said that their demand would be brought at the appropriate forum for the considerable action. Mahant Manjit Singh ji Shiromani Dera Nangli Sahib Poonch was also graced the occasion. Raagi Jethas from Nanaksar Klearian Mahant Kuldeep Singh and Sharminder Singh presented Kirtan. Sant Baba Lakha Singh was among those who paid tributes to Guru ji.
