SRINAGAR, Mar 30: Residents from Gurez area in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district today protested outside the local Tehsil office demanding all-weather connectivity to the area.
They said the area remains disconnected for several months in winters, causing immense hardship to the people of the area. They demanded the construction of a tunnel between Bandipora and Gurez to maintain connectivity throughout the year.
Protesters shouted slogan against the State and Central Governments for ignoring their demand. Protestors were holding placards in their hands, reading “we want justice” and “fulfill our demands.”
Protestors said that the Government has only made fake promises in this regard. “We appeal both the State and the Central Governments to fulfill our demands without any delay,” said protesters.
