GUREZ, June 9: Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today inspected Primary Health Centre (PHC) Bagtore and took stock of healthcare facilities there. He directed the authorities to ensure provision of proper healthcare to the patients.
Earlier, the Minister conducted an extensive tour of various areas of Tehsil Gurez, including Tarabal and Bagtore villages to have an on spot assessment of public grievances. He directed the concerned Tehsil authorities to redress the grievances of the locals on priority.
Enroute, several deputations met the Minister and apprised him about their problems. The demands put forth by the locals include construction of protection bunds and taking necessary steps for soil conservation in the area, repairs and renovation of lanes, drains.
The Minister gave a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into.
Addressing a series of public gatherings at Markote, Bagtore and Tarabal, the Minister said that the Government, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, has taken various historical decisions, including the creation of administrative units to fast track development process and to bring governance to doorstep of the people”.
He said that the several welfare schemes have been launched by the Government during its tenure besides revolutionary decisions taken like PSGA, Right to Information Act and empowering the Panchayati Raj Institutions in the State.
Earlier, the Minister convened a meeting of the officers and reviewed overall progress of developmental works under execution in the Tehsil. Addressing the meeting, the Minister asked the officers to work with dedication and to facilitate completion of works within the stipulated period.
