‘Gurmat Samagam’ at Digiana Ashram being held on Apr 3

JAMMU, Apr 1: A religious function (Gurmat Samagam) in connection with the 400th Birth anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur is being held on April 3 (Sunday) at Digiana Ashram in Jammu with great enthusiasm and religious fervour.
Narinder Singh Khalsa, coordinator of the programme said that this `Gurmat Samgam’ is being organized by the family of Ajit Singh from Guwahati with the support of local Sikh social organizations under the supervision of Mahant Manjit Singh, head priest of Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch.
Khalsa further disclosed that Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, Giani Harpreet Singh, chief of SGPC Amritsar, Harjinder Singh Dhami (adv) and Mahant Manjit Singh will address the religious gathering. Besides them, Bhai Kuldeep Singh, Hazoori Ragi Darbar Sahib Amritsar, Bhai Sarbjit Singh Noorpuri- prominent Panthak Ragi and several other local Ragi Jathas and preachers will grace the occasion.
Prior to this programme, a Dastar (turban wearing) competition among the young generations will also be held at Digiana Ashram on April 2 at 5 pm and the winners of this competition will be honoured at Gurmat Samagam on Sunday.
He disclosed that the organising committee of this Gurmat Samagam, under the chairmanship of S. Ajit Singh has made elaborate arrangements for the participants, community Langar and proper parking of the vehicles. The literature related to Sikh history and teachings, life and sacrifices of Guru Teg Bahadur Maharaj will also be distributed among the Sangat on the occasion, Khalsa added.
