Gurmeet Kour starts works worth Rs 35 lakh

JAMMU, Feb 9: Senior BJP leader and JMC Councillor, Gurmeet Kour Randhawa here today started development works worth Rs. 35 lakh in her Ward 69 (Sainik Colony).
The work include construction and repair of culverts and drains in Sectors G, A and C of Sainik Colony.
A handout stated that life of the shopkeepers of Sector G, Sainik Colony had become miserable due to water logging in front of their shops which impacted their business especially in rainy season.
On this the Councillor moved a proposal for deep drain and culvert which was accepted by JMC and funds were released on priority after which the work has been started.
Speaking on the occasion Randhawa assured the residents of her Ward that works of improvement of the Colony are being taken-up with various departments. “During the first half of the financial year, the works of drains, roads, beautification of parks, tiling, culvert etc were executed in the Ward,” she maintained.
Rajesh Choudhary and Ashwani Bhatti, prominent resident of the Ward hailed the Councillor Randhawa for working hard to ensure better amenities in Sainik Colony.
Others present on the occasion were Bhagwan Dass, Rajeshwar Singh, Raspal Sharma, Saroj Manhas, Alkesh and Satpal Choudhary.
