JAMMU, May 19: Fulfilling the long pending demand of Sainik Colony people, senior BJP leader and Councillor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Gurmeet Kour Randhawa of Ward number 69 here today started road blacktopping work in Sector C of Sainik Colony.
Speaking on the occasion Gurmeet Randhawa said the Government is fully sensitive towards the issue of people and is taking comprehensive measures to provide basic amenities including roads, power and water supply to the people.
She also said, while the blacktopping has been done on most of the roads in last three years, the same at any left out road will be done this year.
The Councillor further said that narrow roads and streets in her Ward will be widened in due course of time and urged upon the residents to avoid polythene bags, single use plastic and stop throwing garbage and debris in drains.
She stressed that residents should segregate wet and dry garbage at their own level and hand over the same to auto-rickshaws collecting garbage from door-to-door.
Komal, Sangeeta, Raman, Ankush, Pooja, Anita and other prominent residents of the Ward were also present on the occasion.
