Guru Mata Nirmala Pandit passes away

JAMMU, Sept 26: Guru Mata, Nirmala Pandit and mother of well known artist Manohar Pandit and film maker, Ashok Pandit breathed her last at Khokila Ben Hospital, Andheri West Mumbai after a brief illness today. The news came as a rude shock to her thousands of devotees all over the country.
Her last rites took place at Jhu Parla West cremation ground. The funeral procession was taken out from her 102 Gulmohar Cross road -6 Jhu Scheme residence this afternoon.
Some prominent people including family members and relatives attended her last rites and gave a touching adieu to Guru Mata who was commonly known as Maa by her devotees.
She is survived by four sons and one daughter. People from all walks of life including fraternity of film makers and artists of Bollywood have paid their glowing tributes to Guru Mata.
Originally from village Muran, Pulwama, Kashmir, Guru Mata along with her family was settled at Mumbai for over six decades.
An extra ordinary woman with a heart of gold she devoted her entire life towards nurturing mankind. She was a spiritually enlightened persona who welcomed each and everyone with open arms without any discrimination.
She was blessed with the title of Annapurna Devi by Guru Shoonyo Ji Maharaj. In view of the current COVID Pandemic the family had requested her devotees not to travel Mumbai but pray for her peaceful last journey from their respective homes.
