JAMMU, Mar 1: BJP general secretary, Yudhvir Sethi today said that Government at the Centre has done justice with the people of J&K by abrogating Article 370 and 35-A. Sethi, while speaking at the 643rd birthday of Guru Ravi Dass Maharaj which was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety here on Sunday said the great Guru has given the message of peace, equality, humanity and brotherhood to world. The programme was organised by Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Upper Gumat, Jammu.
Paying tributes to great saint and social reformer, Sethi said that best way of celebrating the occasion is to take a pledge to follow his teachings in letter and spirit and work for building a society based on the natural principles of social justice, equality, compassion, love and togetherness.
”The abrogation of Article 370 has nothing to do with any religion”, he asserted and added that its abrogation was made to give justice to all people of the State who were deprived of the same during last 66 years irrespective of their religious affiliations.
Sethi called for imbibing the spirit of selflessness and righteousness as preached by saints and sages from times immemorial, saying camaraderie and fellow feelings are imperative for the harmonious growth of the society.
Rajesh Gupta Ex MLA, who was the guest of honour, appealed to the devotees to act upon and spread the message of love, peace and compassion, which was the high point of Guru Ji’s life. He also called upon the youths to follow the path of Guru Ravi Dass and spread the message of love and peace in the society. He said that the new generation should follow the path of peace love shown by Guru.
Badri Nath president of the Sabha presided over function. Krishan Kumar Digra, general secretary of the Sabha and senior BJP leader conducted the proceedings and threw light on the Guru Ravi Dass Ji. He asked the people to follow the teaching of Guru Ravi Dass.
Sabha members Jugal Kishore and Shiv Ram Mangat Ram Jathkar Kala and Jiya Lal Gorkha besides, corporators Jeet Angral, Sat Pal Karlupia and Gopal Gupta also addressed the gathering.
