JAMMU, July 13: A book on the life and teachings of Guru Ravi Dass was presented to Balbir Ram Rattan by former Cabinet Minister, Sat Sharma, along with Adv. Chander Mohan Sharma, Convenor Tawi Andolan, in presence of BJP leaders Suresh Sharma and Kulbhushan Mohtra.
Balbir Ram Rattan has recently been nominated incharge of Himachal Pradesh Unit of Guru Ravi Dass Vishwa Mahapeeth, an international social body dedicated to the cause of spreading teachings of equality and humanity of Guru Ravi Dass Ji.
Sat Sharma, on this occasion, said that India has been a land of great spiritual saints who always spread the message of equality, brotherhood and stressed on the need of strengthening the social fabric and respect the social values. He said that the books are the best source of getting information related to any subject or life of renowned spiritual persons and the young generations should be motivated to get themselves acquainted with their teachings to be a social human being.
Chander Mohan Sharma said that Guru Ravi Dass devoted his entire life for eradicating the social evil of untouchability. He said that whatever Ravi Dass preached carries significance in the present day and need to be taken to the public in every nook and corner. He said that the written material in the shape of books should be utilized to educate the people about the past saints who worked to promote social harmony in the country.
Balbir Ram Rattan expressed gratitude for being extended greetings to boost his morale to simultaneously take on the task of serving his community while performing other activities under different assignments.
