Addressing media-persons here these members led by Prof C L Shivgotra (spokesman) said that the Ravidassia biradri of J&K, convened a General Body Meeting on December 29 to address the prolonged conflict, which had previously been entangled in legal disputes and court orders.
The General Body Meeting, conducted as per the Sabha Constitution, invoked Rule 9 to oust both disputing parties. It also appointed an Adhoc Committee to oversee the upcoming Shobha Yatra on February 9 and the celebration of Parkash Divas of Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj on February 12, 2025. The newly elected Adhoc Committee was tasked with organizing these events with grandeur and harmony.

Amidst rumours suggesting that ousted president Piran Ditta might attempt to claim Sabha property based on a 2019 court order, the Sabha clarified that the General House holds supreme authority in resolving internal disputes. The 2019 court order pertains to individuals who are not involved in the current settlement.
The Sabha highlighted earlier attempts to conduct elections under judicial oversight. On June 1st, 2017, the 1st Additional District Judge constituted an Election Board chaired by Gopal Dass Dogra and supervised by the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu. However, Piran Ditta allegedly sabotaged the election process by withholding membership records and voters’ lists and refusing to provide accommodations for storing essential documents. In December 2017, the Divisional Commissioner noted that the Election Board was not cooperating, leading to a stalemate in the electoral process. To resolve the ongoing crisis, the General House invoked its constitutional powers to oust both parties and form the Adhoc Committee.
This committee will not only organize key events but also facilitate elections for the next governing body as per the Sabha Constitution.
Prof Shivgotra, said that all the branches of Sabha have submitted memoranda to the Divisional Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner of Jammu, supporting the Adhoc Committee
