Demolition of temple at Delhi

JAMMU, Aug 18: Guru Ravi Dass Vishwa Mahapeeth national secretary and State spokesman of BJP, Balbir Ram Rattan submitted a memorandum on behalf of his organisation regarding demolition of ancient temple of Guru Ravi Dass Ji to Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh in presence of BJP State president, Ravinder Raina, State general secretary (Organisation), Ashok Koul and State general secretary, Dr. Narinder Singh, during his visit to Jammu on Sunday.
The memorandum stated that the recent incident of demolition of 600 years old Temple of Guru Ravi Dass Ji in Tuglakabad area of Delhi has sent a wave of anger and resentment among the members of Ravi Dass Biradari across the country.  In Jammu and Kashmir also, lakhs of people of this community are massively condemning, holding protests against it.
It explained that the temple has historic importance as Guru Ravi Dass Ji himself visited this place and the religious sentiments of the followers of Guru Ji are attached with it. Even the official revenue record has entry of this temple.
Balbir Ram Rattan, urged upon the Union Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office to kindly intervene and take up the matter with the concerned authorities at New Delhi for reconstruction of the temple to restore its pristine glory and to respect the sentiments of the large population of the followers of Guru Ravi Dass Ji.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, assured Balbir to take up the matter at the appropriate level so that the sentiments of people attached to temple and this great Guru are not hurt.
