Guru Ravidass Sabha finalizes arrangements for Shobha Yatra

JAMMU, Jan 5: The newly elected adhoc committee of ALL J&K Shree Guru Ravidass Sabha held its first general house meeting to chalk out strategy for Shobha Yatra to commemorate 648th Prakash Utsav of Shree Guru Ravidass ji Maharaj.
The meeting was attended in large number by all branches of the Central Sabha and prominent biradri members, including retired bureaucrats, doctors, engineers, educationist, youth and businessmen of Ravidassia Biradri from across Jammu division at head quarter Krishna Nagar Jammu.
Pertinently, the general house of All J&K Shree Guru Ravidass Sabha ended almost 9 years old dispute between the two groups by removing both from respective positions and constituted an adhoc body giving it responsibility of celebrating forthcoming Parkash Divas of Guru Ravidass and holding the Sabha elections in time bound manner.
The general house unanimously resolved to celebrate Prakash Utsav of Guruji with great pomp and show. Er R C Bhasin informed that state level 648th Prakash Utsav of Shree Guru Ravidass ji shall be celebrated on 12th February at Head office Krishna Nagar and on 9th Feb a Shobha Yatra (Nagar Kirtan) shall be organised from Krishna Nagar Gurudwara to Bahu Fort Gurudwara. “Sabha shall request Dy CM & Chief Minister to grace both the occasions while Sri Sri 108 Swami Gurdeep Giri ji of Dera Swami Jagat Giri ji Trust Pathankot shall be requested to lead the Shobha Yatra,” he added.
A celebration committee comprising of 51 members and a youth committee comprising of another 51 members was constituted for smooth conduct of two events. It was also decided to hold Sabha elections for 2025-27 as per the Sabha constitution preferably before 30th May 2025. In this regard membership of the biradri shall be completed on fast track.
In addition to ten members of managing committee, the prominent biradri members who attended the meeting includes Dr Harydayal, Dr C R Munday, Romesh Uttama, Kesar Singh, C L Banal, Pritam Dass, Rtd DIG Ashok Atri, Rtd SP S M Jungral, Lokhinder Ravi, J R Thapa, M R Bangotra, Paras Ram, Durga Dass, Des Raj, Prabh Dayal, Romesh Kumar, Ashok Thapa.
