JAMMU, Mar 28: Khalsa Blues and Ranjit Club thrashed their opponents in their respective matches and sailed into the semifinals of the ongoing Guru Teg Bahadur Hockey Tournament organised by Khalsa Club under the aegis of Hockey J&K at KK Hakku Stadium here today.
In the first match of the day, Khalsa Blues got walkover against Zorawar Club and reached the semifinal of the tournament.
Meanwhile, in another match, Ranjit Club thrashed Nanak Nagar Club by 2-1 goals and sailed into the semis.
Players from both the teams displayed exhibitory skills during the match. In the first half, none of the player of both the teams scored even a single goal and the first half ended with 0-0 goals.
In the second half, the first goal of the match was scored by Sachal Singh of Ranjit Club in the 51st minute. Just after the first goal, the second goal was again pelted by Sachal Singh in the 54th minute, thus bringing its opponent Nanak Nagar Club under extensive pressure.
After the 2-0 lead, the players of the Nanak Nagar Club played mind games and the first goal from their side was scored by Sachin in the 56th minute, which brought the hope for their team-mates.
In the ending session of the second half, Nanak Nagar Club players were looking dominated, thus giving way to its opponent Ranjit Club to win the match by 2-1 goals.
The match was officiated by Surinderpal Singh, Iqbal Singh, Indpal Singh, Harmanan Singh, Jasbir Singh, Joginder Singh, Harmik Singh, Parvinder Singh and PD Singh.
