MENDHAR, May 15: Noted religious personality and head priest of Gaddi Baba Bairam Shah, Guru Ved Vyas Dutta ji passed away after brief illness today.
A former educationist turned religious person, Guru Ved Vyas has written about fifty books on different subjects. He was respected by the people of all faiths and religions in the area. He was not keeping well for the last few days and was shifted to GMC Hospital Jammu where he passed away this morning.
His body was brought back to Ari village of Mendhar by his followers. The last rites of Guru Ved Vyas Dutta will be performed tomorrow with the traditions of this Guru Gaddi of Baba Bairam Shah. The market in Mendhar town observed shut down after the news of passing away of Guru Ved Vyas reached the town. People from both the communities closed their shops.
