JAMMU, Oct 23: A priest of a Sikh temple (Gurudwara) was found hanging at Chattha area here today.
Around 7:15 AM, one Lakhvir Singh Dutta (34) son of Vijay Dutta of Lakkar Mandi, Janipur, was found hanging with the ceiling fan within the premises of a Gurudwara in Chattha area, said a police official.
He said after getting the information, the body of the deceased priest was shifted to Government Medical College Jammu for post-mortem and other legal formalities.
Meanwhile, police have initiated inquest proceedings under section 194 BNSS to investigate the reasons as to why the youth took such an extreme step to end his life.
